Building Project

Questions and Answers "Buy a book"

This page will present to the public the need for a new library facility.  The project began in 1998.  The original intent was to add onto the current building.  However, it became clear that this was not an option due to the aftereffects of the 1986 flood.  In 2001, the library purchased the land needed for expansion.  In the same year, a needs assessment was done by the Breton Group out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Since 1991, the library collection has doubled, and the number of programs have increased tremendously.  In order to keep up with the needs of our patrons, computers have been purchased for patron use.  For more detail, please view our library statistics comparison.  If you have any questions about the building project, please email us at s.charles@vlc.lib.mi.us
